Everything is moving along quickly now as we look forward to the opening of school next week. Plans and contingencies are in place, we are well-staffed, and our enrollment has increased again this year. Mrs. Gallagher, our principal, and her team of Mr. Lamb and Mrs. Mackin have worked hard this summer to ensure that this school year is even better than last.
The end of summer quickly approaches, and we are still working diligently to have the school ready for the opening of the school year. As many of the local schools open next week, we will hold our annual Backpack Blessing this weekend at all the Masses. All students, from those entering PreK to high school seniors, are invited to come to church with their backpacks and receive a blessing and a gift for the school year.
This weekend our parish welcomes Fr. Gontrran Antsoniavoindrindra, C.M. who is preaching the annual mission appeal here on behalf of the Vincentian Community in Africa. With the growth of Vincentian vocations in Madagascar, the first mission established outside of Europe by St. Vincent de Paul himself, there is a need for a new seminary there. Please be as generous as you can, and please pray for the developing church in Africa.
